New Zealand travel and tourism leaders, including Queenstown, Whale Watch Kaikoura and Air New Zealand, have been celebrated at the recent World Travel Awards as the best in Australasia.

The 21st annual World Travel Awards, which has been heralded by the Wall Street Journal as being the “travel industry’s equivalent to the Oscars”, serves to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.

The airline was also awarded Australasia’s Leading Airport Lounge for the Air New Zealand Lounge at Christchurch International Airport for the second year in a row.

Air New Zealand General Manager Customer Experience Carrie Hurihanganui says the awards reflect the airline’s commitment to ensure a seamless customer journey.

“We’ve placed strong emphasis on enhancing the customer experience at every touch point in the customer journey. It’s fantastic to have this work recognised by these awards which are testament to the efforts of our staff who work incredibly hard to deliver our unique Kiwi service every day.”
